We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor Projects to join our Health & Safety team. In this role, you will support and strengthen health and safety outcomes across a geographically dispersed workforce by ensuring compliance across project and contractor activities, providing expert advice, and driving a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

About the Role
As the Health & Safety Advisor Projects, you will provide contemporary health and safety leadership, support and risk management practices across project delivery and contractor management activities.
You will play a key role in monitoring compliance, undertaking field-based assurance activities, providing practical solutions to complex safety challenges, and supporting strategic health and safety initiatives across the business.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct project site inspections across a range of work locations.

Support project managers in completing periodic due diligence reporting requirements.

Undertake Fatal Risk Control Checks (FRCC) and compliance verification activities.

Review work practices and assess the effectiveness of critical safety controls across projects and major contracts.

Prepare reports and communicate findings, actions and recommendations to project managers, contract managers, operational leaders and Health & Safety Business Partners.

Review tender packages and provide health and safety subject matter expertise as part of procurement processes.

Build and maintain positive working relationships across EPMO, Major Contracts, Operations, Health & Safety and Corporate teams.

Provide technical health and safety advice and practical solutions relating to project and contractor management activities.

Lead and participate in safety conversations, inspections and field assurance activities.

Support the implementation and testing of digital safety systems, including SAP EHS and other field-based safety applications.

Conduct audits, inspections and contribute to incident investigations where required.
To be successful in this role, you will bring strong health and safety experience within a project, contractor or field-based environment, together with the ability to engage and influence a broad stakeholder group.

Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or higher.

Minimum 5 years' relevant industry experience.

ICAM Investigation Training.
-
Auditor Training.
-
White Card (General Construction Induction).
-
Risk assessment and hazard identification.
-
Incident investigation and root cause analysis.

Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and regulatory frameworks.

Experience using digital safety systems and business applications such as SAP EHS, HSE applications and Microsoft Office.
Experience & Capabilities

Experience working in a multi-site or geographically dispersed operational environment.

Demonstrated ability to independently conduct audits, inspections and field assurance activities.

Proven ability to support and influence positive safety culture outcomes.

Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and relationship-building skills.

Ability to coach and support project managers, service providers and contractors in achieving safety objectives.

Sound judgement and problem-solving skills when navigating complex or ambiguous situations.
