About the Role
The Production Manager Manufacturing is responsible for planning, organising and coordinating the production of milled rice products, food safety, and workplace safety systems across rice milling, and controlling the operation of production equipment and quality procedures including planning of maintenance to maximise mill efficiency. The role requires independent judgement, technical knowledge of food manufacturing processes, and continuous oversight to ensure compliance with regulatory, customer, and export requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor production plans.
- Control the operation of production plant and quality procedures including conduct of scheduled maintenance.
- Monitor compliance with food safety programs to ensure accuracy and traceability of records.
- Monitor production output and adjusting processes to ensure quality requirements and productivity targets are met.
- Conduct routine and investigative quality inspections of raw materials, in‑process milling stages, and finished goods.
- Identify, investigate, and report quality non‑conformances and safety hazards, work with other team members to determine root causes.
- Directing mill staff activities to ensure quality and productivity targets are achieved.
Qualifications, Systems, and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree or at least five (5) year’s experience in a related field; Grain milling equipment set up, operation and maintenance; Food safety management systems and quality assurance procedures; HACCP implementation and monitoring; workplace health and safety hazard identification and risk monitoring; Production planning including documentation control enabling traceability, and reporting.
Position Requirements
This is a full‑time, ongoing position essential to the continued operation of the regional rice milling facility. The role is based at the mill facility and supports long‑term food production and food safety compliance, customer and export requirements, and business sustainability. It involves skilled professional duties requiring technical knowledge, analytical capability, and independent decision‑making in a food manufacturing environment.
Pay: $80,000.00 per year
