What you'll be doing
As the After Hours Clinical Nurse Educator, you will lead the delivery, coordination and evaluation of clinical education programs that support evidence-based practice, workforce capability and exceptional patient outcomes. You will provide expert clinical guidance, mentorship and education to nursing staff while ensuring compliance with legislative, organisational and professional standards.
- Design, deliver and evaluate clinical education, orientation, onboarding and mandatory training programs
- Mentor, coach and assess nursing staff to achieve and maintain clinical competency and professional development goals
- Facilitate bedside teaching and provide expert clinical support to promote best practice nursing care
- Partner with nursing leaders and multidisciplinary stakeholders to identify learning needs and implement targeted education initiatives
- Lead and contribute to quality improvement, patient safety and workforce development projects that strengthen clinical outcomes

Essential Criteria:
- Registration: Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Qualifications: As per the Public Health Systems Nurses’ and Midwives (State) Award, a Clinical Nurse Educator is a Registered Nurse/Midwife appointed to a position classified as such and who holds relevant clinical or education post registration qualifications or such education and clinical experience deemed appropriate by the employer.
Selection Criteria:
1. Demonstrated extensive clinical experience and post registration qualification in the relevant speciality and nursing professional development/ education.
2. Demonstrated ability to lead and implement change within the context of best practice clinical care and workplace culture
3. Demonstrated ability to design, implement and evaluate clinical education at the ward level, and provide support and guidance to ensure an appropriately skilled and qualified nursing and midwifery workforce, working within appropriate models of care
4. Demonstrated effective and high level communication skills including negotiation and conflict resolutions skills in addition to proven ability to motivate and engage people in the clinical setting.
5. Demonstrated commitment to professional development and continuous improvement whilst ensuring currency of practice in the relevant specialty
6. Demonstrated ability and commitment to collaborative and integrated multidisciplinary teamwork, aimed at building and strengthening partnerships with consumers and key stakeholders to provide best practice service delivery.
7. Strong commitment to the on-going development/enhancement of nursing practice within a patient centred, multi-disciplinary clinical environment.
8. Relevant computer skills including database programmes and data entry.
