A well-established and growing food manufacturing business in Toowoomba is seeking multiple Maintenance Fitters to join its engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-paced production environment with a strong team culture, multiple shift patterns available, and plenty of overtime opportunities.
Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving the performance of production equipment within a busy bakery manufacturing facility.
The Role
Key responsibilities include:
- Performing preventative and reactive maintenance across production machinery
- Troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical faults
- Minimising downtime and supporting continuous improvement initiatives
- Working closely with production and engineering teams to ensure operational efficiency
- Maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and food manufacturing compliance
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Trade qualifications as a Fitter & Turner, Mechanical Fitter, or equivalent
- Strong mechanical maintenance and fault-finding experience
- Experience troubleshooting production equipment in a manufacturing environment
- Food manufacturing, FMCG, bakery, or other high-speed production experience highly regarded
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to maintenance
Candidates with strong mechanical backgrounds and proven fault-finding experience are encouraged to apply, even if they have not worked directly within food manufacturing.
