Details: We’re looking for a skilled Service Designer to help shape and improve how government services are delivered to the Canberra community. In this role, you will work closely with stakeholders across business and technology teams to understand user needs, map end‑to‑end service journeys, and design practical, user‑centred solutions. You’ll play a key part in turning complex problems into clear, efficient services that are accessible, responsive, and fit for purpose.
You bring experience in service design or human‑centred design, with strong skills in journey mapping, service blueprints, and stakeholder engagement. You’re comfortable working in complex environments, balancing multiple priorities, and influencing decisions through insight and collaboration. This is an opportunity to contribute to meaningful change, working on services that have a real impact on people’s everyday interactions with government.

Experience working in or an understanding of government or regulated environments would be highly regarded.
Note: This is a temporary position available 27 August 2026 until 27 August 2027 with the possibility of permanency. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
