About the Role
Due to continued growth across the region, Babcock is seeking a Finance Manager - General Ledger to join our Corporate Finance team. Based in our Franklin Street CBD office and reporting to the Group Financial Controller, this is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting financial governance, reporting, and strategic decision-making across our Australian and New Zealand operations.
In this role, you will lead the month-end close and reporting process, ensure the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger, oversee labour and payroll costings, and manage financial control risks across the business. You will provide technical accounting expertise, drive continuous improvement initiatives, strengthen financial processes and controls, and partner with senior leaders to deliver meaningful insights that support business performance and growth.
This opportunity is ideal for a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys combining technical accounting expertise with business partnering, financial analysis, and process improvement. You'll have the chance to influence decision-making, support strategic initiatives, and make a tangible impact within a growing and dynamic organisation.
To be successful, you will bring:
Australian Citizenship with a Defence Security Clearance (or the ability to obtain).
Chartered Accountant, ANZ qualified.
Demonstrated experience managing complex accounting matters.
Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy, supported by advanced analytical capability and the ability to recall and apply relevant information during report review and finalisation.
Advanced proficiency in Excel, including the ability to work with complex data sets and analytical models.
Extensive experience in financial business partnering, including leading complex financial analysis and contributing to strategic decision-making.
