We are seeking a highly organised Project Assistant for a junior-level, part-time role that bridges the gap between the design studio and the construction site. Offering a hybrid working environment split between the office and active project sites, this position is crucial for ensuring our design intent is practically and accurately executed. You will balance hands-on project coordination with comprehensive architectural review.
Employment Type & Remuneration
- Position: Part-time (averaging 20 hours per week), with the potential to transition to a full-time role when a position becomes available.
- Salary: Remuneration is calculated on a pro-rata basis, derived from a full-time annual salary.

- Visual Communication: Quickly produce hand sketches on-site or in the office to clearly communicate construction details and practical solutions to the team and contractors.
- Documentation Management: Manage, read, and review construction documentation to ensure the on-site team is always working from the correct and most up-to-date information.
- Site Safety: Monitor and maintain a safe working environment by applying your knowledge of OSH requirements while on-site.
Design Review, Coordination & Technical Research (Approx. 30%)
- Design Phase Coordination: Actively coordinate design elements and project requirements with external consultants, suppliers, and key stakeholders during the design phase to ensure seamless integration before construction begins.
- Drawing Review: Leverage your strong background in producing architectural construction drawings to effectively review, interrogate, and verify project documentation for accuracy, buildability, and alignment with the original design intent.
- Revit Navigation: Utilise Revit to open, navigate, and interrogate 3D models and drawings to extract needed information for the site (active drafting is not required).
- Compliance Checking: Cross-check designs and proposed on-site solutions against the WA R-Codes, the National Construction Code (NCC), and relevant Australian Standards.
- Material & Methods Research: Investigate new building materials, finishes, and practical construction methods to aid the design team and improve buildability.
