Position Overview
The Quality Assurance Manager plans, organises, directs, controls and coordinates the deployment of quality systems and certification processes within the organisation and applies advanced chemical knowledge and professional expertise to the development, evaluation, optimisation, and manufacture of formulated products. The role combines laboratory-based analytical responsibilities with oversight of technical manufacturing processes to ensure products meet quality, regulatory, and commercial standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Formulation & Product Development
Research, develop and optimise chemical formulations using scientific principles.
Design and conduct laboratory trials to evaluate product performance and stability.
Analyse formulation data and prepare technical reports and recommendations.
Maintain detailed formulation and development documentation.
2. Analytical & Quality Control
Conduct chemical analysis of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished goods.
Interpret analytical data to assess compliance with specifications.
Investigate out-of-specification results and implement corrective actions.
Support validation and verification of testing methodologies.
Ensure compliance with GMP and quality management systems.
3. Manufacturing & Process Oversight
Oversee and participate in scale-up from laboratory to commercial production.
Spend substantial time engaged in hands-on manufacturing including batching,
weighing, mixing and monitoring process parameters.
Evaluate and optimise manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and product
quality.
Troubleshoot formulation and process issues during production.
Provide technical guidance to manufacturing staff.
4. Technical Leadership & Compliance
Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory, safety, and environmental requirements.
Maintain technical documentation in accordance with internal systems and legislative
requirements.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across production and laboratory
operations.
Liaise with suppliers regarding technical specifications and material performance.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Chemistry or related scientific discipline.
At least one (1) year of FTE employment experience in a similar role .
Demonstrated knowledge of chemical formulation, analysis, and process optimisation.
Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) principles.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to interpret technical data and translate findings into practical manufacturing
improvements.
Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
