About the role
Ramen Go is seeking a motivated and experienced Cook to join our growing kitchen team. You will work across our two venues, Ramen Go Coffs Harbour and Ramen Go Sawtell, preparing and cooking authentic Japanese ramen, rice dishes, gyoza and Japanese-style side dishes in accordance with established recipes and quality standards.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and cook ramen, rice dishes, gyoza and Japanese-style side dishes in accordance with established recipes and quality standards
- Prepare broths, sauces, toppings and other ingredients for daily service
- Portion, plate and present meals consistently and to the restaurant's standards
- Maintain consistency in food quality, portion control and presentation during service
- Follow food safety, hygiene and sanitation procedures at all times
- Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils and work areas
- Assist with stock rotation, inventory control and receiving deliveries
- Monitor food quality and minimise food waste
- Assist with training and supporting new kitchen staff in food preparation and kitchen procedures
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure efficient service during busy periods
About you
- At least 1.5 years of relevant experience working as a Cook in a commercial kitchen
- Previous experience preparing ramen or Japanese-style cuisine is highly regarded
- Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene and safe food handling practices
- Ability to prepare food consistently in accordance with recipes and established standards
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Ability to work across both Ramen Go Coffs Harbour and Ramen Go Sawtell venues as required
- Availability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable, organised and able to work under pressure
- Strong attention to food quality, cleanliness and presentation
