About the Opportunity
Are you an experienced Electrical Estimator looking for a high-impact contract with a genuine long-term future? We are partnering with a highly respected, rapidly expanding
Tier 2 Engineering and Electrical Infrastructure Specialist currently ranked among the fastest-growing companies in Australia.
Due to an immediate surge across our critical infrastructure portfolio, we are seeking a
Senior Electrical Estimator to cover three major expansion streams:
Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Data Centres, and Heavy Industrial projects. This initial contract runs for up to 6 months and comes with a concrete, structured pathway to transition into a permanent full-time position based on performance and project runway.
This is a
100% remote (Work From Home) position offering true flexibility, autonomy, and the opportunity to work directly alongside senior leadership, including the National General Manager.
Main Responsibilities & Key Result Areas
As a core member of the Pre-Contracts Team, you will analyse project requirements, prepare accurate cost estimates for construction or manufacturing projects, and ensure that estimates are realistic, competitive, and aligned with project budgets.
- Enquiry & Scope Verification: Check enquiries to ensure adequate information (drawings, commercial terms, and specifications) is available to enable an accurate estimate.
- Accurate Costing: Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for projects, analysing requirements including labour, materials, and equipment to determine cost projections across BESS, Data Centre, and Industrial packages.
- Lead Proposals & Bids: Develop and present competitive, comprehensive bids and proposals. Facilitate cost proposal kick-off meetings, clearly outlining structure, expectations, and strategic direction for contributing estimators.
- End-to-End Governance: Oversee the estimating process end-to-end, validating client data, challenging assumptions, and adjusting estimates to maintain alignment with the win strategy. Manage submission schedules, monitor progress, and oversee Extension of Time requests where required.
- Supply Chain Engagement: Obtain, evaluate, and review quotes from suppliers and subcontractors, building strong relationships with Procurement and Rate Card teams to ensure costs are accurate, reliable, and competitive.
- Systems & Database Management: Maintain and organise detailed records of estimates, including calculations, assumptions, and supporting documentation. Refine estimating bases, assembly costs, catalogue pricing, and norms within ProEst, benchmarking against operational performance.
- Risk & Continuous Improvement: Identify potential risks and uncertainties in project costs and incorporate contingencies. Work closely with the Pre-Contracts Systems Manager to enhance template processes, procedures, and consistency.
- Collaborative Handover: Support smooth project handovers through thorough documentation and communication to the project team for project kick-off.
- Strategic Growth: Work closely with the National General Manager Data Centres and infrastructure leads with a strategic focus on work winning, repeat clientele, and further expansion of the sectors.
Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental Responsibilities
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to Health, Safety, and the Environment.
