An IT Support Technician is responsible for providing technical support to employees or customers by installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting computer hardware, software, networks, and IT systems. They ensure that technology systems operate efficiently, resolve technical issues promptly, and help users with day-to-day IT needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide first-line technical support for hardware, software, printers, and network-related issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, mobile devices, and peripheral equipment.
- Troubleshoot operating system, application, email, and connectivity problems.
- Set up user accounts, passwords, and access permissions in accordance with company policies.
- Perform routine system maintenance, updates, patches, and antivirus management.
- Monitor IT systems and escalate complex technical issues to senior IT staff when necessary.
- Install and configure business software and productivity applications.
- Maintain accurate records of support requests, resolutions, and IT assets.
- Assist with data backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Provide basic training and guidance to users on IT systems and security best practices.
- Support network infrastructure, including Wi-Fi, routers, switches, and internet connectivity.
- Ensure compliance with company IT security policies and protect confidential information.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Diploma, certificate, or bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience in IT support, help desk, or technical support is preferred.
- Knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, networking fundamentals, and computer hardware.
- Familiarity with Active Directory, remote desktop tools, and ticketing systems is an advantage.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively under pressure.
- Good organizational and documentation skills.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to changing IT environments.
Pay: $55,052.34 – $99,507.12 per year
