Team Lead Maintenance P-8A

About the Role
Are you an experienced aviation maintenance professional looking to step into a pivotal leadership role? We are seeking a Team Lead P-8A Maintenance to join our Defence & Services business unit at Edinburgh.
In this role, you will be responsible for directly leading a high-performing team of 20 maintenance staff to execute contracted maintenance functions and ensure service delivery excellence. Reporting to the Manager Edinburgh Maintenance, you will serve as a nominated post-holder (e.g., Form 4) under a strict regulatory framework, ensuring full alignment with DASR Part 145 and Part M Regulatory Compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Culture: Directly lead, motivate, and empower a team of 20 direct reports to achieve their KPIs, service targets, and strategic goals.
- Operational Coordination: Coordinate and manage both Prime Contractor and Commonwealth of Australia (CoA) requirements to support P-8A and MC-55 maintenance activities.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain full conversance and compliance with all applicable Defence regulations and technical airworthiness standards within the DASR framework.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive operational excellence and process improvements while integrating Quality Management System (QMS) and Safety Management System (SMS) requirements.
- Safety & Governance: Exercise due diligence to uphold strict Work, Health, and Safety (WHS) legislation, keeping your team and the workplace safe.
About You
To be successful in this position, you will bring a blend of strong technical expertise and proven people leadership capabilities.
Essential Criteria:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of technical or maintenance management experience within the aviation industry.
- Leadership: Proven track record in people management, driving a united team toward measurable results, and fostering a positive, safe culture.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of maintenance management facets (planning, parts management, delivery types) and applicable aviation legislation (CASR, DASR).
- Qualifications: Certificate IV or Diploma in Aeroskills, or equivalent relevant technical experience.
- Security & Compliance: Must be eligible for an Australian Defence Force Security clearance.
Desirable Criteria:
- An active Aviation Maintenance License associated with a relevant regulatory system.
