Tintern Grammar seeks to appoint a Secondary Science Teacher. You will be an enthusiastic and capable educator with demonstrated experience teaching Science across Years 7–10. Experience teaching VCE Science subjects is highly desirable. The role requires an exceptional educator who is passionate about engaging and motivating students and fostering curiosity and enthusiasm for Science.
About the Role
As a key member of our Science Department, you will deliver a vibrant and engaging Science curriculum to students across Years 7–10 and possess strong knowledge of relevant content and pedagogy. Experience teaching at VCE level is highly desirable.
You will use a range of teaching strategies that cater to the needs of a diverse student group and demonstrate a willingness to differentiate the curriculum to support individual student needs. You will bring your passion for Science to the School and, above all, demonstrate a genuine commitment to engaging, connecting with and caring for our students.
This is a part-time, fixed-term leave replacement position at 0.75 FTE for Term 4, 2026.
About You
You will be able to demonstrate excellence in teaching, and experience in Science. You will demonstrate:
- Care and connectedness with students
- Current VIT registration
- Experience teaching Science across Years 7–10
- Experience teaching VCE Science is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of the Australian Curriculum and relevant VCE curriculum frameworks, where applicable
- Strong IT skills
- The ability to encourage, engage and motivate students
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Highly developed interpersonal skills
- The ability to use a range of teaching strategies and differentiate learning to meet the needs of students
- A commitment to encouraging students to take appropriate risks within a structured school environment, make individual choices and use new experiences as learning opportunities
- A desire to work collaboratively with other teachers and actively engage in the broader life of the School
