PROCUREMENT EXECUTIVE | STRATEGIC SOURCING PATHWAY
Yummy Karma Foods Pty Ltd — Riverstone, NSW (with international travel)
Full-Time | Reports to Director/CEO
ABOUT US
Yummy Karma Foods (www.yummykarma.com) is an SQF and Halal-certified Australian food manufacturer supplying airline, major retail, foodservice and private-label channels nationally. We're a fast-growing, business expanding into new international sourcing categories, new customers, and new markets. It's a genuinely exciting stage to join: the systems and relationships you help build now become the backbone of the business as it scales.
THE ROLE
This is a rare opportunity to learn strategic sourcing directly from the Founder & CEO — working closely together on live international supplier negotiations, sourcing programs, and cost strategy. You'll sit in on real negotiations from day one, see first-hand how supplier decisions actually get made, and learn what good looks like — while owning the analysis, planning, and logistics that make those decisions possible. Over time, as you build capability, you'll take on more of the supplier-facing work yourself. This is a genuine growth path, not a fixed-scope admin role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build and maintain usage forecasts, stock-on-hand tracking, and order planning models across key input categories
- Prepare RFQs and tender documentation, and manage the process of collecting and comparing supplier quotes
- Support and observe supplier negotiations and selection decisions, working directly alongside the CEO
- Manage day-to-day supplier communication — chasing documentation, samples, technical spec sheets, and pricing updates
- Draft, review, and maintain supply agreements, purchase contracts, and PIs, and track key terms, pricing validity, and renewal dates
- Liaise with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and logistics partners on shipment documentation and clearance
- Track landed cost models and flag cost or timeline risks early
- Coordinate sample requests, NPD/QA review cycles, and supplier compliance documentation
- Support international market visits and factory audits alongside the CEO
- Progressively take on greater ownership of supplier relationships and negotiations as capability grows
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Some prior experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain — this role will suit someone earlier in their career who wants to learn from the ground up
- Strong with numbers — comfortable building and maintaining cost and planning models in Excel
- Highly organised, with the discipline to manage multiple live sourcing threads at once
- Comfortable reading and tracking commercial contract terms — pricing, payment terms, MOQs, renewal dates — with an eye for detail
- Curious and proactive — willing to chase suppliers, question numbers, and flag problems early rather than wait to be asked
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally for supplier visits and audits
- Clear, direct communicator, comfortable working closely with a CEO and moving at pace
- Experience in food manufacturing, FMCG, or import/export is an advantage but not essential
WHAT WE OFFER
- Direct, hands-on mentorship in strategic sourcing and supplier negotiation — a genuinely rare learning opportunity
- International travel for supplier visits, factory audits, and market research
- A clear growth path — as you build capability, you'll take on greater ownership of supplier relationships and negotiations
- The opportunity to help build the foundations of a function from the ground up,
- Base salary $80,000–$100,000 + superannuation, dependent on experience
