Primary objective
You will provide professional administrative support that helps the School Leadership, Culture and Care team operate effectively.
Through strong customer service, accurate information management and day-to-day business support, you will contribute to a
respectful, culturally safe and high-performing team.
Context Statement
School Leadership, Culture and Care (SLCC) support the workforce conditions that help schools succeed. The team focuses on the
people and workforce systems across the Department, including leadership, capability, wellbeing, culture and cultural
responsiveness. SLCC works at a system level to reduce complexity and provide clear, practical support so leaders can make
confident workforce decisions. You will work closely with the Senior Director, the SLCC Admin team and a range of internal and
external stakeholders. The role requires flexibility, good judgement and the ability to manage changing priorities. This role is
designated under Special Measures to strengthen Aboriginal Employment pathways.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Deliver professional and responsive administrative support services.
2. Maintain accurate records, databases and information in line with policy and governance requirements.
3. Provide administrative support to the Administration Coordinator, Administration Manager and work unit.
4. Support business processes including travel, procurement, scheduling and meeting coordination.
5. Process financial and administrative transactions in accordance with departmental requirements.
6. Liaise with staff, schools and external stakeholders to support day-to-day operations.
7. Prepare routine correspondence, reports and administrative documentation.
8. Contribute to a positive team culture, continuous improvement and culturally safe workplace practices.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated experience providing administrative support services and using office systems, databases and Microsoft Office
applications.
2. Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with a diverse range of stakeholders and build positive working relationships.
3. Demonstrated ability to organise work, manage routine priorities and meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention
to detail.
4. Experience maintaining records and information in accordance with policies, procedures and business requirements.
5. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and provide responsive customer service.
Desirable
1. Experience supporting financial and administrative business processes in accordance with policies and procedures.
2. Experience working in a government, education or community-focused organisation.
