We are a family-owned mixed farming operation specialising in livestock and potato production near Kalangadoo.
We are seeking a highly organised book-keeper / administration assistant to provide day-to-day financial and operational support across multiple entities. Prior experience with book-keeping within the agricultural sector would be beneficial for this position and a minimum of 5 years experience is required.
Candidate Profile:
You must be confident working autonomously, take ownership of your work, and understand the importance of accuracy and discretion. Your strong organisational and communication skills, attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities will ensure success in this role.
Proficiency with Excel and Microsoft Office is essential. Knowledge of and experience with relevant accounting software such as Xero, Figured and Ag-World are highly desirable.
Please note that Certificate III or IV in Accounting and or qualifications in business administration and bookkeeping are desirable for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with payroll and keep up to date employees’ records such as contracts, hourly rates, and other employment documentation.
- Prepare and process accounts payable and receivable
- Create and process receipts and purchase orders
- Reconcile bank accounts and supplier statements
- Assist with BAS, tax documentation and reporting
- Enter and maintain potato production records
- Maintain fertiliser, irrigation and chemical application records
- Maintain compliance and audit documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- General administration duties
Pay: $38.00 – $45.00 per hour
