In this role, you'll combine hands-on technical delivery with technical leadership, helping guide the design and execution of high-voltage transmission line projects from concept through to construction support. You'll work alongside a highly experienced team while helping to develop our capability, mentor emerging engineers, and contribute to the technical direction of our growing transmission lines business.
As part of Jacobs' established Transmission Lines team, you'll collaborate with specialists across Australia, New Zealand and APAC on projects that are helping enable the energy transition and support the future of renewable energy infrastructure.
With a strong pipeline of work ahead, you'll have the opportunity to work on major transmission and utility projects, influence engineering outcomes, and help build the next generation of transmission line expertise within Jacobs.
This role offers variety, including technical design leadership, multidisciplinary collaboration, client engagement, mentoring opportunities, and the occasional site visit to some of the more remote and interesting parts of the region.

Lead the design and delivery of transmission line projects across Australia and APAC
Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineers across the team
Review and oversee engineering deliverables to ensure quality and consistency
Collaborate with clients, project managers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver successful project outcomes
Support the development of technical standards, innovative solutions and best practice approaches
Mentor and develop emerging engineers, sharing knowledge and building capability across the team
Contribute to project pursuits and help grow Jacobs' transmission line presence in the market
Here's what you'll need
Experience in transmission line engineering and design
A degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
Familiarity with tools such as PLS-CADD, TOWER and/or POLE
Knowledge of relevant industry standards including AS/NZS, IEEE and IEC
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams and disciplines
A passion for technical excellence and helping others develop
