AFMH is looking for enthusiastic Herd Technicians to join our dairy operations at Coomboona Farms in Northern Victoria.
Our Herd Technicians are involved with all aspects of calf rearing, herd health, hoof trimming, breeding and reproduction programs; caring for the overall health and wellbeing of our cows. There are opportunities to specialise in the area of your interest or maintain variety in your role.

AFMH operates multiple sites across eastern Australia. Dairy operations are located at Moxey Farms in Gooloogong, NSW, as well as Coomboona Farms in Coomboona, VIC. In addition, AFMH operates Ladysmith Farms a young stock operation near Wagga Wagga, NSW.
- Participate in all aspects of herd health; monitoring transition, fresh and milking cows to diagnose common health conditions;
- Participate in all aspects of herd reproduction; AI, heat detection, synchronisation and embryo transfer programs;
- Participate in all aspects of maternity; assisting calvings, processing of fresh cows and care of newborn calves;
- Participate in all aspects of rearing calves; feeding, calf vaccinations & treatments, and other routine tasks;
- Periodic relief in the milking parlours;
- A genuine demonstrated interest in animal care & wellbeing
- Previous experience with livestock essential
- Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, Veterinary Science or similar advantageous
- A proven history of working well as part of a team with a track record of punctuality and reliability
- A positive attitude with a demonstrated commitment to improvement and learning
