The Role
We are seeking a hands-on IT Operations Lead to oversee the delivery and performance of our IT services across the business. Reporting to the IT Manager, this role acts as the second-in-command within IT, combining strong technical expertise with operational leadership.
You will be responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and performance of IT systems while leading day-to-day operations, managing vendors, and supporting critical business technology.
With the support of an experienced team, you will drive continuous improvement and deliver reliable IT services across our national operations.
In this role you will deliver success by:
- Leading IT operations across Microsoft 365, Azure, networks, endpoints, and telephony
- Overseeing service desk performance, incident management, and escalations
- Managing vendors and service providers to ensure KPI and SLA delivery
- Maintaining high system availability, resilience, and cybersecurity posture
- Providing hands-on L2/L3 technical support across identity, cloud, and endpoint environments
- Strengthening security controls including MFA, Conditional Access, and Defender
- Supporting backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes
- Driving continuous improvement across systems, processes, and services
- Mentoring team members and acting as a key escalation point

You are a technically strong IT professional with experience leading operations in a fast-paced environment. You enjoy solving complex problems, improving systems, and supporting teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.
You bring strong stakeholder engagement skills and can balance hands-on delivery with leadership responsibilities.
Requirements

10+ years’ experience in IT Operations or Support roles

Strong experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, and Entra ID

Hands-on expertise across endpoint management (Intune), security, and cloud platforms

Proven L2/L3 troubleshooting capability across IT infrastructure and services

Experience leading or mentoring team members

Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and best practices (e.g. Essential Eight)

Experience with vendor and service provider management

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Current driver’s licence and ability to travel as required

You must have valid work rights in Australia
This role is based in Mulgrave, Victoria.
