Your new role:
As the Senior Consultant Workplace Health & Safety, you will provide expert WHS advice to strengthen safety systems, practices and outcomes across Metro South Health. You will contribute by:
Reviewing and improving safety management systems to ensure alignment with WHS requirements and legislation.
Providing expert WHS consultancy, advice and recommendations to support Metro South Health priorities.
Coordinating WHS policies, strategies and initiatives to strengthen safety culture and outcomes.
Analysing injury and WorkCover data to identify risks and support audits, inspections and improvements.
Monitoring WHS legislation and sharing updates with stakeholders across the organisation.
Building strong stakeholder relationships through networks, committees and professional forums.
Promoting a respectful, inclusive and safe workplace culture for staff and patients.
About you:
We are seeking a proactive WHS professional who can apply specialist knowledge, influence positive change and work effectively within a complex healthcare environment. You will bring:
Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply WHS legislation, standards and contemporary safety practices in complex environments.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify risks and implement practical solutions.
Experience developing reports, providing advice and supporting evidence-based decision making.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence outcomes and build productive working relationships.
Excellent organisation skills with the ability to manage competing priorities, take initiative and deliver quality outcomes.
A collaborative approach with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to shared organisational goals.
Resilience, self-awareness and the ability to navigate challenges while maintaining a positive and solutions-focused approach.
