Annual salary $93,577.06 - $100,063.55 pro rata to hours worked + Statutory Superannuation
Permanent Part-Time, 3.5 hours per week as rostered on weekends
The City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters is seeking an experienced and customer-focused Senior Customer Experience Officer (Weekend) to join our Library Services team.
This is an exciting leadership opportunity for someone who thrives in a dynamic customer service environment and enjoys leading a team to deliver outstanding experiences. You'll play a key role in ensuring our libraries operate smoothly over the weekend, supporting staff, resolving complex customer enquiries and creating welcoming, inclusive spaces for our community.
The Role
Reporting to the Weekend Customer Experience Lead, you will oversee the day-to-day operation of our library services during weekend opening hours. As the senior officer on duty, you will provide leadership, coordinate resources, support Customer Experience Officers and volunteers and act as the first point of escalation for complex customer issues.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading weekend library operations to ensure safe, efficient and high-quality service delivery.
- Supervising and supporting Customer Experience Officers and volunteers.
- Resolving customer enquiries and complex service issues with professionalism and empathy.
- Assisting with staff rostering and resource coordination.
- Managing library resources, customer holds and collection maintenance.
- Supporting venue hirers and responding to operational issues.
- Acting as Chief Fire Warden and First Aid Officer and ensuring a safe environment for staff and visitors.
About You
You are an experienced customer service professional with strong leadership skills and a passion for creating positive community experiences and hold the following skills and experiences:
- Demonstrated experience leading customer service teams
- Exceptional communication, coaching and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to resolve complex customer situations with confidence and professionalism
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- A collaborative leadership style that supports and develops others
- Confidence using library customer service and Council operational systems
- A commitment to delivering inclusive, responsive and customer-centred services
- Current driver's licence
- National Police Clearance (willingness to obtain through Council processes)
- DHS Working with Children Check (willingness to obtain through Council processes)
- Chief Fire Warden (willingness to obtain through Council processes)
- Emergency First Aid (willingness to obtain through Council processes)
This position works across Council's library sites and requires regular weekend work. Availability on Saturday and Sunday is required.
Experience in libraries, local government, community services or similar public-facing environments will be highly regarded.
