The Leading Hand is a trade-qualified carpenter responsible for delivering townhouse construction projects. This role leads site teams to ensure work is completed safely, on time, and to required quality standards.
Identify, manage, and report hazards
Ensure compliance with SWMS and safety standards
Maintain safe, operational tools and equipment
Execute work to high quality and company standards
Meet project timelines and report issues daily
Ensure defects are rectified within required timeframes
Plan and communicate daily tasks to site teams
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised worksite
Prepare for and manage deliveries, verifying materials
Supervise and support labourers and trades
Ensure quality workmanship across all activities
Address or escalate issues in line with company values
Certificate III in Carpentry
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Leading Hand role
Residential construction experience (townhouses preferred)
Current Driver’s Licence, White Card, and Skid Steer ticket
Strong knowledge of plans, construction methods, and materials
Strong leadership and team coordination
Effective communication and stakeholder management
Problem-solving and proactive decision-making
High attention to detail and commitment to quality
