The Mission
We are seeking a Principal Quantum Engineer to lead development of an advanced solid-state platform focused on precision measurement.
Your initial objective will be to design and deliver a benchtop proof-of-concept system capable of extracting high-fidelity signals from dynamic physical processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Sensing Architecture: Lead the development of a Solid-State Quantum-grade sensing system for high-precision monitoring of dynamic physical processes.
- Optical/Signal Rig Development: Design and assemble the tabletop instrumentation required to extract high-fidelity signals from a solid-state medium.
- Signal Integration: Collaborate with our Embedded Systems Lead to translate raw physical signals into actionable digital metrics.
- Hardening Roadmap: Design the transition from benchtop rig to a compact, ruggedized package.
Required Expertise
- Advanced degree (PhD preferred) in Experimental Physics, Optical Engineering, Photonics, Electrical Engineering, Metrology, or related discipline.
- Strong hands-on experience with precision measurement systems, optical instrumentation, photonics, spectroscopy, or RF systems.
- Experience optimizing signal-to-noise performance and experimental measurement systems.
- Ability to independently design, build, troubleshoot, and iterate complex experimental hardware.
Nice to Have
- Exposure to solid-state systems or emerging quantum technologies
- Experience with embedded systems or FPGA integration
- Background in low-noise electronics, signal processing, or precision timing systems
