Position Title Head Gymnastics Coach (P-12)
Reporting Manager Head of Sport P-12
Role Purpose The Head Gymnastics Coach is responsible for leading and delivering
Danebank’s gymnastic program for students from P to 12. This includes
recreational, competitive and representative gymnastics, delivering quality,
engaging and educational gymnastics training sessions/competitions to
students, ensuring gymnastics programs are safe and are professionally
delivered, and that competitive training pathways are available in
accordance with program requirements whilst ensuring high levels of
customer service are maintained.

Actively support the Christian ethos of the school, modelling a Christian
example in all activities.
Create inclusive, safe and supportive learning environments that model
Christian world views.
As a member of the Danebank Sports Team this position is specifically
responsible for:
Gymnastics Program
- Coordinating gymnastics resource management including, but not
limited to, timetabling & writing gymnastics programs and weekly
coaching sessions, rostering staff for these coaching sessions,
equipment maintenance, ordering and distribution of student
uniforms, and any other resource management relevant and
applicable to the Gymnastics Program.
- A degree of initiative and flexibility when designing programs and
coaching to meet the individual needs of gymnasts.
- Conducting training sessions suitable to the level of students and in
line with program expectations that are high quality, safe, fun,
engaging and effective.
- Initiating and leading innovative gymnastic and movement
programs for the school, including holiday programs and camps.
- Management of the Danebank Gymnastics Club and attendance at
related carnivals or events.
- Supervising students in the gymnasium and assisting students in
the change rooms as required.
Team Leadership
- Administrative management of the gymnastics program including
but not limited to term-based registrations, beginner programs and
high performance programs.
- Leading and managing a high quality team of gymnastics coaches,
judges and convenors (where applicable) including recruitment,
staff retention and development, rostering, timetabling,
timesheets, payments, communication and maintenance of
relevant handbooks and codes of conduct.
- Covering roster to facilitate coach absences.
- Mentor fellow gymnastics coaches and always provide best
practice training methods for coaches to actively learn as part of
on-the-job training.
