Lenox Avenue is Adelaide's all-day dining Mediterranean and Asian fusion food. Our Blackwood location is a buzzing neighbourhood favourite with a pet-friendly outdoor area, a loyal local crowd, and a team that takes pride in every plate that leaves the pass.
We're growing — and we're looking for a Chef de Partie who wants to be part of building something special, not just clocking shifts.
The Role
As CDP at our Blackwood location, you'll be the steady hand running the kitchen day to day — mostly across breakfast and lunch service, with one dinner shift a week to keep you connected to the full Lenox menu and energy. This is a hands-on role with real ownership: you'll often be the senior chef on shift, so you'll need to run the pass, not just stand at it.
Hours & Pay
Roster built around 4 breakfast/lunch shifts + 1 dinner shift per week (~38 hrs)
$75,000 package (including super)
Weekly pay, above Restaurant Industry Award
What you'll be doing:
Owning your section during full-service trade — prep, execution, and pass-quality plating
Maintaining consistency across our Mediterranean and Asian fusion menu
Mentoring junior kitchen staff and apprentices
Managing stock, rotation, and section-level wastage
Upholding food safety and HACCP standards
Bringing energy to our busiest nights — including live music Fridays
Running the Kitchen Day to Day
Because you'll frequently be the senior chef on shift through breakfast and lunch, you'll need to be comfortable owning the full kitchen operation, not just a section:
Opening and closing the kitchen — checklists, equipment checks, fridge/freezer logs
Writing and working off daily prep lists, adjusting for covers and bookings
Receiving deliveries, checking against orders, and rotating stock (FIFO)
Running a clean, organised pass during service and calling dockets confidently
Keeping cleaning schedules and HACCP records on track without being chased
Flagging low stock and helping place supplier orders
Communicating clearly with FOH on 86s, specials, and timing
Stepping in across sections as needed to keep service moving
What We're Looking For
Proven CDP experience (or strong Demi Chef ready to step up) in a busy, quality-focused kitchen
Confidence running a kitchen solo during quieter shifts — you don't need a Head Chef standing over you
Genuine knowledge of Mediterranean and/or Asian fusion cooking techniques
A calm head under pressure and a collaborative attitude on the pass
Current RSA and Food Safety Supervisor certificate (or willingness to obtain)
Availability for a mostly day-shift roster with one dinner shift per week, including weekends
