Your New Role
Permanent role based in Sydney or Melbourne
As Compliance Manager, Oversight & Assurance, you will lead Aware Super's compliance oversight and monitoring program, providing independent oversight, challenge and insight across compliance risks, regulatory obligations and control effectiveness. Working as part of the regulatory affairs & compliance team, you'll help strengthen the Compliance Management Framework through risk-based assurance activities, thematic reviews and data-driven insights. You'll also play a key role in shaping and delivering the team's data, analytics and AI strategy to drive more proactive, efficient and insightful compliance oversight.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and execute annual monitoring and assurance plans, including thematic reviews, deep dives and assessments of emerging regulatory risks.
- Provide independent Line 2 oversight and challenge, assessing the effectiveness of compliance controls and the management of compliance risks across the organisation.
- Deliver insightful reporting and analysis to executive management, committees and the board, translating complex compliance information into clear and actionable insights.
- Lead the development of the Compliance team's data, analytics and AI strategy, leveraging technology to enhance monitoring, reporting, risk identification and compliance maturity.
How do you exceed our expectations?
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in compliance, within the financial services industry, with exposure to superannuation and investments.
- Detailed knowledge of Compliance, Legislative & Regulatory requirements within the financial services industry.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to influence/persuade colleagues and gain co-operation, especially when there are competing priorities.
- Experience developing and executing compliance monitoring, assurance or oversight programs.
