About the Role
Reporting to the Future Student Engagement Lead, this role is responsible for seeking, developing, and following up leads with a focus to recruit students from across Australia into the school; and identifying and implementing improvements to the admissions process. Working alongside the marketing team, you will create targeted nurturing campaigns to increase new student applications and enrolments.
Working closely with Marketing and Communications, this position will support the building of custom reports in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, to provide insightful data to harness student recruitment opportunities. This role will be crucial to the execution of the Student Recruitment and Admissions Strategic Plan.
Working collaboratively with the First Nations and Outreach division, this position implements student recruitment activities designed to increase diversity with a particular focus on building a strong First Nations student cohort, community outreach activity and schools marketing campaigns. This includes building and maintaining high-school career advisor relationships, booking and staffing career fairs and ensuring AFTRS is represented in a professional manner.
Key Accountabilities
- Recruitment Administration: Facilitate the student recruitment process from initial enquiry through to application submission. This includes answering enquiries via phone, email, website and in person in a timely, informative, and friendly manner.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to the recruitment process, increasing team productivity and enhancing the student experience.
- Marketing: Work with the marketing team to develop lead-nurturing campaigns and targeted content to drive new interest and enrolment for courses and award programs.
- Recruitment Strategy: Work closely with the First Nations and Outreach division to implement culturally appropriate strategies to increase applications from students from culturally and racially marginalised backgrounds from across Australia, with a particular focus on First Nations applications.
- User Experience: Work closely with the Short Courses and Marketing teams to identify UX improvements in the CRM and on the AFTRS website, to enhance customer experience and increase team productivity.
- Administration: Assist with and prepare relevant documentation for the Admissions Committee, working closely with faculty to ensure all information is accurate.
- Student Recruitment Opportunities: Support the Head of Student Recruitment and Admissions and Future Student Engagement Lead in developing and implementing strategies to attract and support student recruitment activities, student exchange opportunities and international co-partner initiatives.
- Student Advice: Provide culturally informed and appropriate advice to all prospective students, in particular to prospective First Nations students.
- Career Fair Calendar: Create and maintain the student recruitment career fair calendar, to ensure AFTRS has a presence at key fairs around Australia.
- Relationship Management: Build and manage relationships with schools, including digital media teachers and career advisors.
- Reporting: Build custom reports in the CRM to report on short course and award course interest.
- Other Duties: There may be a requirement to undertake tasks outside the scope of the responsibilities listed to support the organisation. AFTRS will engage in a conversation should these tasks arise.
About you - You Have:
- Sales / Student Recruitment Experience: Experience in sales or student recruitment roles within education, training or screen and arts environments.
- First Nations Cultural Knowledge: Demonstrable knowledge of First Nations culture and protocols with the ability to build relationships with First Nations people, communities and organisations.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication skills and proven ability to manage enquiries across multiple platforms including phone, email, social, direct messaging and web enquiries.
- Student Pathways Understanding: Understanding of opportunities to nurture and build prospective student pathways with a focus on culturally and racially marginalised students.
- Stakeholder Management Skills: Strong stakeholder management skills and proven ability to work across functions.
- Problem Solving Skills: Excellent problem-solving capabilities with the ability think quickly in a fast-paced environment.
- Safe Work Environments: Experience in fostering culturally and psychologically safe work environments.
