Our Debt Finance Practice specializes in advising clients on all aspects of debt-related transactions and financial structuring. We provide legal expertise to borrowers, lenders and other financial institutions on a wide range of financing matters, including syndicated loans, leveraged buyouts, refinancing and structured finance. Our team assists clients in negotiating and drafting loan agreements, security documents and other related contracts, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and managing potential risks. By leveraging our extensive knowledge of global financial markets and regulations, our Debt Finance Practice helps clients secure favorable financing terms and navigate complex financial landscapes, ultimately supporting their strategic financial goals and operational needs.
As an Associate or Senior Associate, you will apply good judgment and excellent analytical skills to your work. Highly organised and self-motivated, you’ll be a team player with a strong professional presence and client focus.
Key role and responsibilities include:
Acting for top tier lenders and sponsors in connection with leveraged and other complex cross-border finance transactions
Managing day-to-day communication involved in ensuring that deals are running smoothly – conveying information to clients, outside parties, and responding to queries and requests.
Contributing to the growth and development of the practice.
May co-ordinate work of more junior members of the team
Required qualifications and experience:
Admission in Australia
PQE 4-7
Experience in general banking finance, broad exposure consisting of a combination of, acquisition and leveraged financing, syndicated and bilateral financings (both secured and unsecured)
Strong academic record, intellectual curiosity and analytical thinker
Outstanding communication skills - written and verbal.
Strong time management skills, ability to stay calm under pressure when working across multiple deals.
Client service focus and commercial awareness
