Our mission is to improve the lives of people with renal failure, reunite families and reduce the impact of kidney disease in our communities. We are run by Aboriginal people for Aboriginal people and work to provide culturally appropriate dialysis services in remote communities, helping people to get home to country and family.

Summary:

The Primary Health Care Quality Facilitator plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of health care services in Alice Springs. This position involves collaborating with health care teams to implement quality improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with health standards, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The facilitator will contribute to the overall effectiveness of health care delivery, ultimately improving patient outcomes in the community.

Position Functions:

- Maintain responsibility for regularly reviewing and updating PHC-specific clinical policies and procedures, in line with best practice.
- Establish audit processes to monitor adherence to and effectiveness of current PHC-specific policies and procedures. This relates to areas such as clinical practice, equipment management, and infection control.
- Maintain responsibility for quality control of clinical equipment and resources (including consumables).
- Partake in specific quality improvement projects, as directed by the PHC manager, or the Purple House senior management team.
- Partake in and contribute to the Clinical Governance working group (meeting quarterly)
- Maintain responsibility for facilitating regular meetings with the clinical team, to provide an opportunity for discussions regarding patient case management, areas for improvement, and education requirements.
- In conjunction with the PHC manager, work with individual members of the clinical team to support their performance and reach self-identified professional goals.
- Work closely with the PHC Manager to ensure a collaborative approach to supporting staff deliver care in line with the organisation’s strategic goals
Assist with clinical workload and day-to-day tasks when required
About You
- Demonstrated clinical experience in primary healthcare, remote healthcare, community health, or a similar setting.
- Experience in quality improvement, clinical governance, auditing, and/or accreditation processes.
- Sound knowledge of infection prevention and control principles, clinical risk management, and best practice standards.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to review, develop, and implement policies, procedures, and quality systems.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to support, educate, and mentor clinical staff.
- The ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and build positive working relationships.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and implementing improvements.
- A commitment to continuous learning and supporting others to achieve professional goals.
- Understanding of and commitment to culturally safe healthcare practices, particularly when working with Aboriginal communities.
- Current driver's licence and willingness to travel to remote communities as required.

Qualifications:

A relevant qualification in health care, nursing, or a related field.
Experience in quality improvement or health care management.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
