Primary objective
Ensure delivery of a high quality, culturally appropriate and evidence based psychological inpatient service as part of a multi-
disciplinary team.
Context statement
The Allied Health Division provides integrated allied health services in a variety of service settings including acute and sub-acute
care, primary health care, aged care and mental health. Currently seeking applicants in the following areas specialty area of
Rehabilitation and Pain Services. This position may require the applicant to work within an extended hours service model, including
weekends.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide evidence based psychological services to clients within a multidisciplinary framework under supervision of the Senior
Psychologist.
2. Provide advice to the Senior Psychologist and management on program and clinical issues in psychology clinical area.
3. Provide supervision and/or support to students and relevant staff.
4. Manage a caseload in a timely manner and re-prioritise tasks to ensure timelines are met.
5. Participate in quality improvement and service development activities at a local or regional level to ensure contemporary
psychological services to meet patient outcomes.
6. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken
in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
7. Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary team leadership practices and role modelling behaviour in accordance
with TEHS cultural charter
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Relevant qualifications in psychology that meets unconditional registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health
Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
2. Experience providing evidence informed treatment for high prevalence psychological disorders.
3. Demonstrated awareness and understanding of Aboriginal culture and proven relevant experience in working effectively with
patients, families/carers of diverse range of cultures and social backgrounds.
4. Proven communication, interpersonal skills as well as well developed negotiation and conflict management skills with
experience working in a team environment to achieve positive health outcomes.
5. Commitment to professional development with the ability to organise and manage a complex client caseload.
6. Proven ability to initiate, implement and complete continuous quality improvement and service development activities.
7. Proficiencing utilising computer systems and databases to record service provision outcomes.
Desirable
1. Clinical experience related to rehabilitation with experience providing contemporary psychological services to patients and
families/carers.
