VeiraMal Consulting is seeking an experienced a full-time Motor Mechanic / Automotive Technician to join our clients' workshop in Campbellfield, in Melbourne’s northern suburbs. Our client is looking for an enthusiastic individual who can work well in a team, with strong communication skills.
The successful applicant will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, repairing and maintaining a range of light vehicles. This is a hands-on workshop role suitable for a qualified mechanic with practical experience in vehicle fault diagnosis, servicing and mechanical repairs.
Duties include:
- Inspecting vehicles and diagnosing mechanical and basic electrical faults in vehicle systems and components.
- Using diagnostic computers, scan tools and workshop equipment to test vehicles and identify faults.
- Carrying out scheduled servicing, including oil changes, lubrication, filter replacement, tune-ups and general maintenance.
- Repairing and replacing worn, damaged or defective parts, including brakes, suspension, steering and other mechanical components.
- Removing, refitting and adjusting vehicle components as required during servicing and repair work.
- Testing and adjusting repaired mechanical parts to ensure proper performance and safe operation.
- Checking vehicles for safety issues and recording any repair work or further maintenance required.
- Attending to vehicle breakdowns or urgent repair tasks when required.
- Maintaining accurate service records and keeping the workshop area clean and safe.
Requirements:
- Minimum Certificate IV in Automotive.
- At least 1 year of relevant experience as a Motor Mechanic, Automotive Technician or similar.
- Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and basic electrical faults in light vehicles.
- Experience using diagnostic tools and workshop equipment.
- Good understanding of workshop safety procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Current driver licence preferred.
Salary: $79,600.00 per annum plus superannuation
Hours: 38 hours per week
