About QIMR Berghofer:
QIMR Berghofer is a world-leading translational medical research institute focused on improving health by developing new diagnostics, better treatments and prevention strategies, specifically in the areas of Cancer, Infection and Inflammation, Brain and Mental Health, and Population Health. Based in Herston, Brisbane and working in close collaboration with clinicians and other research institutes, QIMR Berghofer is home to more than 600 scientists, students and non-research staff.
About The Centre for Tropical Health and Emerging Diseases:
QIMR Berghofer has recently established a tropical health research centre – The Centre for Tropical Health and Emerging Diseases (the Centre). The Centre spans the full spectrum of research from conception through to translation and implementation (bench to community). The Centre brings together researchers with the common goal of developing and evaluating evidence-based solutions for the control and elimination of tropical diseases against a background of poverty and a changing climate.
Role Purpose / Responsibilities:
We are seeking an experienced professional to manage the Centre. You will be pivotal in assisting the Director with the growth of the Centre, by:

Managing the coordination and partnership activities of the Centre

Preparation and implementation of a strategic plan for the Centre

Development of funding strategies and identification of funding opportunities

Stakeholder engagement

Staff management
About you:
You will have a significant prior experience in a project management or business development role, particularly within the research field. This role demands exceptional organisational skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage multiple complex projects in a dynamic environment. You'll have proven experience engaging with diverse stakeholders, from government and NGOs to communities, and a working knowledge of priorities in tropical health. Excellent communication skills, grant writing expertise, and staff supervision experience are essential. Remuneration: Salary range is $109,791 to $121,898 per annum (full-time) plus super and generous salary packaging. This is a part-time (0.5 FTE), fixed term appointment to 30 June 2029.
Pro-rata base salary (based on 0.5 FTE) is $54,895 to $60,949 per annum.
