We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organised Stock Controller to join our operations team and play a critical role in ensuring inventory accuracy, traceability and stock integrity across our warehouse operations.
About the Role
Reporting to the Warehouse Operations GeneralManager, the Stock Controller is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, stock traceability and stock status while supporting order allocation and customer order fulfilment.
This role works closely with ripening, warehouse, receivals and dispatch teams to ensure all stock movements are accurately captured and inventory records remain reliable. The position is essential in supporting effective stock rotation, order selection and operational decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate inventory records and reconcile physical stock against system records.
- Control pallet, lot, grower, batch and location information.
- Monitor stock status and ensure inventory data remains accurate and up to date.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions where required.
- Complete cycle counts, stocktakes and variance investigations.
- Monitor held, ageing, damaged and priority stock.
- Maintain inventory accuracy across ripening, pre-pack, storage and dispatch functions.
- Support customer order allocation and order make-up activities in partnership with the Ripening & Handling Manager.
- Ensure stock is allocated according to customer requirements, rotation principles and product availability.
- Assist with receivals, dispatch activities and stock movement administration during peak periods.
- Provide support across warehouse operations when required.
- Assist with order fulfilment planning and stock coordination activities.
- Ensure inventory practices support customer, food safety and quality standards.
About You
Essential
- Previous experience in inventory control, stock control, warehousing or logistics.
- Strong understanding of stock management and inventory processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience working with inventory or warehouse management systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Intermediate computer skills, including Excel and inventory reporting.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple operational departments.
Desirable
- Experience within fresh produce, food manufacturing or warehousing environments.
- Knowledge of product traceability and inventory management systems.
- Understanding of food safety and quality requirements.
- Forklift Licence (LF).
- Experience managing cycle counts, stocktakes and inventory reconciliations.
- Knowledge of bananas, avocados, mangoes or other fresh produce products.
