About Greyhound Australia
For more than 110 years, Greyhound Australia has connected people and places across the country. As Australia’s only national coach company, our drivers play an important role in helping customers experience the heart of Australia safely and comfortably.
Now part of Entrada Travel Group, we’re building on our proud history with a strong focus on safety, service and the future of travel. For our drivers, it’s a chance to be part of a trusted national business and experience Australia from a very different seat.
About the Role
Based in Adelaide, this Full-time Coach Captain role puts you behind the wheel of some of Australia's most iconic routes — from the ranges to the plains, through the kinds of towns and country that most people only ever see from a plane.
This isn't metro driving. It's open roads, long stretches and real responsibility — and for the right person, it's the best office in the country.
Your key responsibilities include:
-
Safely operating coaches across long-haul and remote or xx and regional scheduled services, including some of Australia’s most unique and demanding routes
-
Handling luggage and freight safely as part of scheduled services
-
Staying on top of the required administration, including pre-start checks, log books, fault sheets, journey records and ticketing
-
Managing your own fatigue in line with Basic Fatigue Management requirements
-
Creating a calm, confident and positive customer experience from departure through to arrival
About You
You’re an experienced, self-reliant driver who’s comfortable with long hours, remote conditions, and the responsibility that comes with them.
You’re comfortable working independently, take pride in doing the job properly and safely, and know how important it is to give passengers confidence across every stage of the journey.
You’ll bring:
-
A current HR driver’s licence
-
A current Driver’s Authority / Endorsement
-
Proven coach, bus or long-haul driving experience
-
A strong safety mindset and commitment to fitness for duty
-
The ability to manage fatigue and work across a rostered schedule
-
Confidence working independently across long-haul, remote and rostered services
-
Sound judgement, reliability and the ability to stay calm under pressure
-
A calm, confident and welcoming approach with passengers
-
Mechanical knowledge, desirable but not essential
