The City of Melville is seeking a motivated and reliable Parks Maintainer to join our Parks Maintenance team. This role is responsible for maintaining and enhancing public open spaces, ensuring high-quality presentation, safety, and customer satisfaction across our community.

Salary: $77,579.93 to $80,321.08 pro-rata p.a. (effective 01st July 2026) + 12% Super
Employment Type: Permanent, Full Time
About the Role:
You will carry out horticultural maintenance across parks and streetscapes, operate equipment safely, and support daily operations. The role includes identifying maintenance needs, following safety and traffic management practices, delivering quality customer service, and contributing to continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform horticultural and turf maintenance across parks and streetscapes
- Safely operate and conduct minor maintenance on horticultural plant and equipment
- Complete pre-start vehicle and equipment checks
- Identify and report maintenance needs, including reticulation systems
- Assist with park and streetscape maintenance scheduling and daily reporting
- Implement Basic Traffic Management practices where required
- Conduct Take 5’s and contribute to Job Hazard Analysis processes
- Support the development and review of procedures and work instructions
- Deliver high standards of customer service in line with organisational values
- Promote and adhere to Safety, Health, Environment & Quality (SHEQ) policies
- Contribute to Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement initiatives
- Undertake additional duties within the scope of the role as required.
Essential Requirements:
- Current ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence
- Certificate II in Horticulture/Turf (or equivalent) or willingness to obtain
- Construction White Card
- Skills and knowledge in the use of a wide range of horticultural equipment and machinery
- Basic oral and written literacy and numeracy skills
- Working knowledge of Work Health and Safety
- Ability to work both independently and within a team
Desirable Experience:
- Current MR class WA driver's licence
- Chemicals Safely in the Workplace Certificate
- Senior First Aid Certificate
