In this role, you'll:
As a Senior Estimator, you will play a critical role in developing competitive project estimates, supporting project planning activities, and providing specialist advice to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and cost effectively. You'll collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other estimators, and drive continuous improvement in estimating practices and commercial outcomes.
More specifically you will:
- Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for infrastructure projects and maintenance works.
- Provide specialist estimating advice to support project planning and delivery.
- Analyse risks, project schedules, and project details to support sound assumptions when producing estimates.
- Undertake project performance reviews and compare actual costs with past estimates and promote continuous improvement.
- Develop and maintain estimating databases, including items such as resource rates and productivity rates to support estimate accuracy and future project success.
- Conduct market research and gather industry intelligence to identify innovations, efficiencies and best practices.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to deliver high-quality project outcomes.
Office Location: Base location flexible within Southern Region (NSW). Fulltime temporary assignment opportunity up to 15 months.

About you
You are a highly experienced estimator with strong commercial acumen and a proven ability to develop detailed estimates for civil infrastructure works. Your technical expertise is complemented by excellent stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills, allowing you to build productive relationships and deliver commercially sound outcomes in a complex environment.
You have appropriate tertiary qualifications or demonstrated, relevant, equivalent professional experience relative to the role.
You are willing to travel on occasions and be away from home at times to facilitate project needs.
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Demonstrated experience in estimating road, bridge and/or traffic infrastructure maintenance projects.
- Strong ability to prepare strategic, concept, and detailed estimates from first principles.
- Experience using estimating, project planning and information management systems.
- Proven capability to analyse risks and evaluate project requirements.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across geographically dispersed teams and diverse stakeholder groups.
- Ability to identify process improvements and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Practical knowledge of Work Health and Safety legislation and quality management principles.
