About the role
The Operations Manager provides leadership and direction for the day-to-day operations of the Museum of the Goldfields, ensuring the effective management of human, financial and physical resources in accordance with Departmental priorities and public sector standards. The role provides high-level support to the site’s Regional Manager and functions as the key delegate in their absence, contributing to operational leadership, decision-making, and the achievement of strategic and service delivery outcomes.
About you
We are looking for a dynamic, motivated, and detail-oriented leader who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering high-quality visitor experiences. You will be confident using computer systems and applications, including Microsoft Office, and demonstrate well-developed organisational, and project management skills.
You will demonstrate strong attention to detail, sound judgement, and a commitment to excellence, while being aligned with the WA Museum’s values and strategic pillars, including collaboration, community engagement, knowledge sharing, and delivering impactful cultural experiences.
The successful applicant will be expected to:
- Manage daily Visitor Services operations through effective leadership, resource management, and operational planning.
- Deliver and support exhibitions, public and education programs, events, and outreach activities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, community groups, and visitors.
- Contribute to operational planning, site projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.
