The NSW Government Graduate Program gives you a wide range of experiences. Our program suits driven, open-minded graduates.
The program is structured so you can spend time with your cohort, building a network of peers across the sector. You will have a dedicated mentor to support you for the length of the program.
You will do meaningful work on the job, plus complete a learning and development program tailored to your stream.

Are you interested in applying your knowledge of science and mathematics to find effective solutions to problems? Disciplines include civil engineering, mechanical engineering, project management, environmental engineering, mining and resources and construction management.
The NSW Government Graduate Program Engineering Stream will provide you with invaluable experience in analysing and addressing problems and coming up with practical ways to make changes that deliver to the citizens of NSW.
You will gain exposure and contribute to critical initiatives. You could be working on a wide range of different projects in areas such as transport and infrastructure.
With a variety of placements across Sydney metro and regional NSW Government agencies, you’ll get to try different things!

Eligibility
To apply for the 2027 graduate program, you must:
have completed or be completing an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, mining and resources, mechanical engineering, construction management, building construction, and project management degree
hold a current visa or be in the process of obtaining a visa permitting you to work full-time in Australia for the 18-month duration of the program until 6 August 2028
complete your undergraduate or postgraduate engineering degree between 1 June 2024 and 31 December 2026, including any work placements
be available to start full-time work on 1 February 2027.
