The Role
The Supervisor (Electrical) position oversees the day-to-day activities at one or more project sites. The role is primarily responsible for the safe and effective supervision of sub-contractors, suppliers and works generally, specifically focused on electrical, electrification and/or electrical systems works. The position requires mobility and flexibility in work location, potentially across multiple states and in both regional and/or remote areas. The Supervisor will report directly to either the General Manager, Program Manager or Project Manager, based on the size and complexity of a program / project.
The Supervisors accountabilities and responsibilities include:
- Responsible for the day-to-day site management of subcontractors and suppliers.
- Collaborate with other functional resources, eg HSE, to deliver the project outcomes
- Implement a safe and healthy work environment for all staff / personnel working on site, inclusive of promoting a positive culture around safe work practices and compliance with company procedures and practices.
- Competent in Microsoft Office and CRM/PM systems.
- Proven ability to work safely in accordance with Victorian electrical safety regulations and occupational health and safety (OHS) requirements.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills with attention to detail in all aspects of electrical work.
- Documenting and escalating changes to program / project scope, cost, schedule or quality, as a result of site works, as soon as practical.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills with attention to detail in all aspects of electrical work.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact respectfully and effectively with tenants, including culturally diverse and vulnerable households
Qualifications, Skills and Experience Required
- Trade qualification as a qualified 'A' grade electrician or similar, together with relevant construction industry and/or project management experience.
- Prefer10 years of demonstrated experience working as an electrician, preferably on electrical projects within the commercial sector.
- Sound knowledge of residential and/or commercial construction processes, commercial obligations, including legal and regulatory requirements, including HSE obligations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, together with a high level of knowledge and experience with industry relevant technology tools, equipment and applications.
