Join our team as a Team Leader - Environmental Extension Programs
Are you a confident and passionate people leader with a strong environmental background? In this dynamic role, you’ll lead a small, high-performing team to deliver impactful conservation programs that protect and enhance our natural environment. From shaping community partnerships to driving program outcomes, you’ll play a key role in turning strategy into real-world environmental results.
Your responsibilities will include:
Strategic program leadership – Lead Bushcare, Wildlife and Environmental Partnership programs aligned to Council strategies
Team leadership – Build, support and inspire a positive, high-performing team culture
Program delivery – Plan, coordinate and deliver impactful environmental initiatives
Stakeholder engagement – Partner with community, contractors and key stakeholders
Project & budget management – Oversee budgets, timelines and resource allocation
Performance & reporting – Monitor outcomes and drive continuous improvement
Operational excellence – Develop processes, KPIs and delivery frameworks
Collaboration & innovation – Foster creative solutions to environmental challenges
Skills and experience:
- Confident leader who drives performance and a positive team culture
Demonstrated experience leading teams to deliver strategic outcomes
Strong background in conservation or environmental management
Proven project/program management skills with budget oversight
Ability to analyse data and use insights to guide decisions
Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills
Strong problem-solving skills in complex environments
High-level communication and reporting capabilities
Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, GIS or environmental disciplines are desirable but not essential - we welcome applicants with transferable skills and experience
