Location: Melbourne, VIC
Employment type: Full-time
Duties — Plasterer (Wall & Ceiling)
- Plan plasterboard layout and install insulation and vapour barriers ahead of sheeting
- Measure, mark, and cut plasterboard to size; lift, position, and secure sheets to walls, ceilings, and battens
- Fit and secure corner beading, cornices, panel mouldings, and other decorative plaster fittings
- Cover joints and fixing points with plaster or sealing compound, then smooth using brushes and sandpaper for a clean finish
- Mix and apply plaster, cement, and render coatings using trowels, levelling surfaces to a uniform thickness
- Check and adjust corners, angles, and wall/ceiling surfaces to ensure true, straight lines
- Apply acoustic, insulating, and fireproofing plaster-based systems where specified
Duties — Carpenter
- Review drawings and specifications to confirm materials, measurements, and installation sequence
- Select and order timber and other materials, and set out layouts prior to construction
- Cut, shape, and assemble timber components, fixing parts together to form structures
- Erect wall and roof framing, lay sub-flooring and floorboards, and check structures are true and level
- Fit fascia, sheet roofing, and install exterior cladding, door frames, and window frames
- Pre-assemble timber components into finished fittings ready for on-site installation
Requirements (both roles):
- Relevant trade qualification or equivalent work experience
- Sound knowledge of trade-specific techniques and finishing standards
- Ability to read technical drawings and building plans
- Ability to work at heights and use scaffolding/ladders safely
- Strong attention to detail; able to work independently or in a team
Pay: $80,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
