The role of the Senior Radiographer is responsible for the operational management of a section/modality, providing clinical support as well as the efficient and effective utilisation of resources of the section. The Senior Radiographer is also responsible for high quality imaging services to patients and our referring clinicians and the professional development of qualified and trainee Radiographers.

Selection Criteria
- Current registration with Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia as a Medical Radiation Practitioner - Diagnostic Radiographer and IA14 radiation licence issued by EPA.
- Demonstrated extensive experience and competence within Interventional Radiology and in performing complex clinical procedures within this modality which reflects a level of continuing education and/or practical expertise. Proven multi-modality experience, such as single and bi-plane angiography suites, CT intervention and advanced scanning, US intervention and combined modality IR suites.
- Demonstrated experience of effective prioritisation and organising workload and delegate duties. Ability to coordinate workflow across multiple IR rooms, ability to prioritise emergency and elective procedures.
- Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively and work as a team member and provide supervision for other radiographers including an ability to train and teach qualified and trainee radiographers.
- Demonstrated high level of communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to consult, liaise and negotiate with all levels of staff, patients and external agencies and the ability to positively influence organisational change.
- Availability to participate in a seven day per week rotating roster and availability to be rostered on call.
- Have a thorough understanding of the principles of Quality Assurances and Continuous Quality Improvement. Support implementation of new technologies and procedures.
- Demonstrated experience supporting Level 1 Trauma services including but not limited to polytrauma patients requiring complex multidisciplinary intervention. Experience with the use of a multi-modality IR suite within a Hybrid theatre.
