The Opportunity:
Are you ready to make a meaningful impact in our Community Care Services by coordinating our clients home mods projects?
Barcaldine Regional Council are seeking a proactive and task-oriented individual to join our CCS team in the Home Projects Officer role.

What You'll Do:
- Coordinate and manage home modification and home assist projects for Community Care Services clients, from initial referral through to practical completion.
- Receive and process referrals from occupational therapists, clients, families, and internal staff, and assess scope and requirements in line with individual care plans and program funding parameters.
- Manage the request for quotation (RFQ) process, obtain and assess multiple quotes, and coordinate the engagement of builders, tradespeople, and contractors in accordance with Council's procurement policy.
- Schedule and coordinate contractors and tradespeople, monitor progress against timelines and budgets, and conduct follow-up inspections to confirm completion and quality.
- Liaise with clients, occupational therapists, and internal staff throughout projects, providing regular updates, managing expectations, and resolving any issues or defects that arise.
- Build and maintain positive, person-centred relationships with clients and their families, delivering a high standard of service ad continuity with care.
- Engage and manage contractor and supplier relationships, maintaining consistent quality standards and ensuring reliable service delivery across the region including remote and rural locations.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records for all home modification and home assist projects, including referral documentation, quotes, approvals, correspondence, and completion records.
- Manage incoming emails, calls, and correspondence related to projects, actioning and recording in a timely manner.
- Assist with audits and ensure all project documentation is complete and compliant for any compliance reviews or inspections.
Position Details:
Location: This position is based in Barcaldine with regional work and travel as required.
Classification Level: Level 4.1 of the Queensland Local Government Industry (Stream A) Award - State 2017, and the Barcaldine Regional Council Certified Agreement 2025.
Wage: Part-Time, minimum base salary of $42/hr + Superannuation (up to 12%) and relevant approved allowances.
Payment of Wages: Council employees are paid fortnightly.
Hours of work: Part-Time (0.5FTE), 36 hours per fortnight.

What We're Looking For:
- Satisfactory completion of Year 12 Certificate or equivalent.
- Formal qualification in Project Management or Business Administration or related discipline is desirable.
- Current Queensland class 'C' Driver Licence.
- Minimum two (2) years' experience in an administrative role, with proven experience in a team environment and the ability to support across an organisation.
- Sound computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with records management systems.
