ASIC's Business Analysis team is currently seeking Business Analysts to join their high-performing team to contribute to a wide range of technology projects within ASIC.

The team
The Digital, Data & Technology (DD&T) Portfolio Office delivers a broad suite of services in portfolio management, project delivery, business planning, and governance to support ASIC's strategic priorities. We work in close partnership with ASIC's Digital, Data & Technology group and the newly established RegistryConnect (RC) program to ensure projects are aligned with both strategic direction and operational needs.
The role
The Business Analyst role within ASIC is responsible for leading and delivering a broad range of analysis activities critical to the successful completion of projects. This includes, but is not limited to, the elicitation and analysis of both high-level and detailed business requirements (functional and non-functional), requirements management, enterprise analysis, solution assessment and validation, ensuring alignment with business needs and project objectives.
More specifically, you will:
- Collaborate with business subject matter experts and IT teams to analyse business requirements, identifying and articulating the underlying business needs through stakeholder workshops and targeted discussions.
- Elicit, document and manage business, functional and non-functional requirements in formats that are clear, structured and accessible to a broad range of stakeholders, including business, executive, design, development and testing teams.
- Design user interfaces in alignment with User-Centred Design (UCD) principles, ensuring solutions meet industry standards and Australian Government accessibility and usability guidelines.
- Develop and maintain process maps, including current state (as-is) analysis and future state (to-be) design, to support process improvement and transformation initiatives.
- Define integration patterns and develop detailed integration specifications across technology platforms, as well as technical requirements for infrastructure services where required.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and system implementation activities, including the preparation of test artefacts, user documentation, and training materials to facilitate successful adoption.
About you
The ideal candidate for the Business Analyst role at ASIC is a highly analytical and adaptable professional with strong experience in both Agile delivery and traditional business analysis practices. They will demonstrate the ability to elicit, analyse and manage complex business and technical requirements, working closely with stakeholders at all levels to translate business needs into clear, actionable outcomes. A strong communicator and collaborator, the ideal candidate will also demonstrate a proven ability to build effective relationships with SMEs, senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams, while guiding other analysts. They will be customer-focused, self-driven and committed to delivering outcomes aligned with ASIC's objectives and values.
In addition, you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or a related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of IT Systems Development Lifecycles (SDLC) and Agile delivery methodologies.
- Demonstrated expertise in eliciting, documenting and managing business and technical requirements.
- Solid capability in process modelling (including BPMN), data analysis and data modelling techniques.
- Advanced enterprise analysis skills, with a proven ability to resolve complex problems within dynamic and evolving business environments.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging effectively and deliver to diverse audiences, both verbally and in writing.
