THE ROLE
We seek a detail-oriented and reliable Production Worker to join our team; previous experience is sought after but not necessary. Ideal candidates are team players with strong problem-solving skills and commitment to safety. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the production worker is responsible for assembling, setting up, and operating machinery designed to construct trusses for building construction. This role involves interpreting plans, positioning components accurately, and ensuring the production of high-quality trusses according to specifications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIIES
- Set up and calibrate truss jigs and machinery in accordance with engineering specifications.
- Read and interpret plans to accurately measure, position and assemble timber components.
- Measure, stamp and place timber and other materials into jigs according to design specifications.
- Inspect completed trusses to ensure they meet quality and engineering standards, adjusting where required.
- Collate completed trusses and pick hardware for customer orders.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area while adhering to all workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS | EXPERIENCE | CAPABILITIES
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling, including stacking timber.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Positive, reliable team player with a proactive “can-do” attitude.
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
- Willingness to learn new skills and work across different areas of the business.
- Experience in the timber, manufacturing or construction industry (desirable).
- Experience operating production machinery, power tools and/or a forklift (desirable).
- Flexibility to work overtime when required.
