THE ROLE
St Clair Recreation Centre is a busy community hub delivering health, fitness and aquatic services to the local community. The Customer Care Director is a key part of the centre's leadership team, responsible for all frontline services including customer care, the café and merchandise.
Reporting to the Centre Manager, you will lead and develop the customer care and café teams, making sure every member and guest receives the highest level of service. You will manage the day-to-day frontline operation, drive membership and program promotion, and take ownership of team culture, performance and development. This role also includes direct rostered shifts across customer service, health and fitness and duty management.
Key responsibilities include:
Lead the performance, culture and development of the customer care and café teams
Manage frontline operations, POS data integrity, end of day banking and reporting
Coordinate customer feedback through email and AskNicely, resolving concerns professionally
Manage the centre's social media presence, including content, scheduling and engagement
Oversee café food safety compliance, menu support, stock management and the merchandise range
Recruit, onboard, coach and roster staff, with three weeks' advance notice
Champion a positive work health and safety culture across the centre
Successful candidates will also have, or be willing to obtain:
Minimum 2 years' experience in the health and fitness industry, hospitality or equivalent
RRHAN-EC Masterclass, Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect, Education and Care
HLTAID011 Provide First Aid and HLTAID009 Provide CPR
Strong, inspiring people leadership with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Food Handling certification (desirable)
