Rockhampton Pharmacy Department at plays a vital role in ensuring patients receive safe, effective, and timely medication management throughout their hospital journey. Alongside preparing and supplying medications for inpatients and outpatients, our team provides expert clinical pharmacy services, including medication reviews, patient counselling, therapeutic drug monitoring, and participation in multidisciplinary ward rounds and outpatient clinics.
Our department also supports healthcare professionals with specialist medication advice while fostering excellence through the education and training of staff and future pharmacy practitioners.

About the role:
Deliver comprehensive clinical pharmacy services, including medication dispensing, reconciliation, counselling, drug information, and evidence-based recommendations to support safe and effective patient care.
Apply and develop advanced clinical knowledge and judgement while contributing to Quality Use of Medicines initiatives and the ongoing improvement of pharmacy practices and protocols.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across Rockhampton Hospital and other CQHHS facilities to provide high-quality, patient-centred pharmacy services.
Support the development of the pharmacy workforce by supervising, mentoring, and educating pharmacy assistants, students, and less experienced staff.
About you:
Hold a recognised tertiary pharmacy qualification and current registration (or eligibility for registration) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a pharmacist in Australia.
Demonstrate strong clinical pharmacy knowledge and the ability to deliver safe, evidence-based pharmacy services appropriate to your level of experience.
Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills when engaging with patients, families, and colleagues.
Support the development of others by providing guidance to less experienced staff and contributing to the education of students.
Show initiative in driving service improvement, adapting to change, and providing clinical supervision and leadership where required.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $132,567 p.a. is comprised of:
An hourly rate between $43.68 - $58.59 p.h.
