We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Senior Legal Counsel to provide high quality, timely and solution-focused legal advice and services across Catholic Healthcare. With a strong focus on property and property-related matters, major contracts and key organisational projects, this role will partner with internal stakeholders to support sound decision-making, risk management and positive outcomes for the organisation.

Day to day this role will see you:
- Providing legal advice and support, including document creation and review, with a focus on property, property-related and major contractual matters
- Supporting key organisational projects, including acquisitions, disposals and other strategic initiatives
- Preparing or assisting with papers for the Catholic Healthcare Board or Board Committees where legal input is required
- Supporting other general legal matters as needed
- Supervising and coaching the Junior Corporate Lawyer
- Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with key internal stakeholders
- Acting as a trusted reference point for practical, reliable and valued legal advice across the business
- Assisting with the development and review of policies and procedures requiring legal input
- Working with the Chief Legal Counsel to manage external legal advisors within budget
To be successful in this role you’ll need:
- A Law Degree, admission to practice in NSW and a current NSW practising certificate
- Minimum 5-6 years’ post-admission experience in a medium to large law firm or corporate environment
- Demonstrated experience in property, contractual, regulatory and general corporate legal matters
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, practical and solution-focused advice
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the confidence to advise employees and leaders at all levels
- Experience in aged care, guardianship, retirement villages or similar legislation would be highly regarded
- Ability to work collegially as part of a team and provide positive leadership, coaching and support to others
- Strong computer literacy and confidence using technology to support efficient legal service delivery. We use the LEAP Legal software system.
- Understanding of AI and its practical application in legal work, with the capability to use AI tools responsibly
