AHP3 Senior Social Worker | Specialised Psychosis Care!
Join SA Health's Marion Psychosis team as an AHP3 Senior Social Worker, where you'll provide specialised interventions for individuals experiencing psychosis and their families at Flinders Medical Centre. About the role:
Reporting to the Team Manager, this role is responsible for the delivery of a range of clinical activities, including mental health and psychosocial assessments, risk assessments, treatment and care planning, therapeutic interventions, advocacy and liaison with other community service providers.
Duties for the role will include:
Providing professional supervision to AHP1 and AHP2 Social Workers, and other nominated clinicians and students in the Team / area,
Actively participating in professional supervision,
Working collaboratively with other senior clinicians and the Principal Social Worker to address profession-specific issues and identified professional development needs,
Co-ordinating educational activities for students on professional placements across the sector,
Providing social work specific assessments and therapeutic interventions including individual counselling, family interventions, crisis intervention, brief therapy and focused psychological strategies,
Promoting environmental interventions to enhance the consumer’s resilience within the community and optimise social functioning,
Providing and promoting a strengths-based recovery approach in the delivery of services,
Undertaking care coordination of an allocated caseload,
Undertaking high quality assessments (including bio-psychosocial assessment, mental state examination and risk assessment) and planning recovery focussed services for consumers referred to the service
About you:
An appropriate degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers,
Advanced skills in undertaking a comprehensive bio-psychosocial assessment including risk assessments of consumers presenting with high or complex needs,
Clinical skills appropriate to the area of individual counselling, group work, family therapy and focused psychological strategies,
Knowledge and experience of evidence based theoretical frameworks relevant to the field of mental health (such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Family Therapy, Safety Planning/Relapse Prevention, and the Recovery Model),
Effective leadership skills including highly developed skills in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills,
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a current clinical mental health setting,
Demonstrated competence in all the competency standards for social workers working in mental health
