Midwest Beef and Gingin Meatworks (“Borrello Beef Group”) are vertically integrated growers, processors and suppliers of beef to domestic and international markets. They are a West Australian family-owned businesses.
Borrello Beef Group are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic person to join a regional feedlot team (based within 300km of Perth) in a full-time capacity assisting in all aspects of feedlot operations including handling livestock, feed and commodity handling and repairs and maintenance, this role will report to the Feedlot management team.
Key Role and Responsibilities
The Feedlot Assistant role will be responsible for;
- At the direction of the Feedlot Manager or his delegate the Feedlot Assistant will perform whatever tasks and responsibilities are necessary according to the various work loads and schedules of the operating teams within the feedlot business unit. This may include but is not be limited to;
- Assisting with the receival and induction procedures of livestock designated for internal or custom feeding programs,
- Unloading, loading, mustering, scanning, drafting and weighing of livestock. All aspects of livestock husbandry and welfare including handling and veterinary treatments.
- Welfare checks for the identification and diagnosis of illness with efficient communication to the Livestock Supervisor
- Ensuring clean water troughs are maintained at all times
- Ensure that livestock handling facilities are kept in a clean and tidy state
- Working with the Feedlot Manager
- Assisting with office and administrative tasks such as stocktaking, data and commodity recording, filing and data entry
- Office and administration building and workshop cleaning and maintenance.
- Working with the feed team
- Feed mill operation, feed mixing and delivery
- Receival of feed commodities
- Cleaning of feed bunks
- Cleaning around silos and within the milling and feed production zone
- Working with the operations team
- Daily maintenance and cleaning activities of plant, equipment and infrastructure,
Preferable Qualifications Required
- Previous experience in working in an intensive livestock handling operations preferred
- Basic computer skills
- Good communication skills
- C class license, minimum
- Machinery experience preferred but not essential
- Available to work rostered weekends

Pay range $75,000 - $100,000 per annum plus superannuation. Immediate start available. Pay processed weekly.
